StreamGroomer
StreamGroomers monitor and regulate the traffic across Wide Area Networks (WAN). StreamGroomers integrate transparently, regardless of network architecture, between the LAN and WAN access router and are administered via an out-of-band management network. Continuous service is ensured using high-availability architectures.
- Integrated application-oriented WAN traffic monitoring, QoS and acceleration
- Automatic WAN performance optimization according to application and business-oriented policies
- Supports complex networks: 802.1Q trunk VLAN, multiple WAN links with asymmetric traffic, etc.
- Integrated fail-safe port bypass
- Active-active load-balancing of multiple WANs with fail-over
- Dual and Tandem StreamGroomers for high-availability

StreamGroomers analyze network traffic at wire speed, collecting comprehensive measurements and packet data at distributed points in your network. Indicators are calculated from this data in real-time to show current network performance. This data is aggregated and sent to a central repository with minimal network overhead, enabling fast drill down analysis and troubleshooting as well as providing detailed records for forensics.
The StreamGroomer’s Deep Packet Inspection analyzes Layer 2-7 packet data to identify applications and user sessions against a predefined catalog of 400+ services. This extensible catalog makes it easy to match application types to packet data when monitoring activity and analyzing reports. These same classifications are also used for WAN traffic optimization, improving resource efficiency and reducing errors.
StreamGroomers combine QoS, traffic shaping and WAN acceleration to assure network performance and maximize bandwidth utilization. Fine-grained queuing and traffic shaping match network performance to application and user session needs. Protocol acceleration, caching and compression of network traffic optimize bandwidth utilization to speed up network performance and deliver response times users need.
Several models are available for remote locations or data canters to meet your WAN service and application traffic profiles.
